Purposes

  

a. To promote the economic, social, and professional interests of   

retired teachers.


b. To cooperate with the local and retired teachers associations 

of the three Grand Divisions, the Tennessee Education Association(TEA), National Education Association (NEA), and National Education Association-Retired (NEA-Retired).  In subsequent pages of this document, only the initials for the various organizations will appear. 


c. To act as a clearinghouse in the circulation of relevant information to retired teachers. ( Facebook )


d.  To enlist the support of the active teachers’ organizations, boards of education, parent-teacher organizations, and community, civic, and state groups for all children and youth,


e.   To initiate, promote, and support action at the state and national levels for the improvement of living conditions for older Americans in cooperation with the programs of the NEA, NEA-Retired, and any other organizations which have similar goals as determined by the Representative Assembly or TRTA Board of Directors.
