On September 17, 2023, the Chester County RTA met at Snookum’s Restaurant in Henderson for a general
business meeting. Brandon Cooper, the EM Agency manager of Chester Co. was the guest speaker. Chester Co. RTA signed up two new members!-- Martha Lewis reporting.
Spring 2025--WTRTA Annual Meeting, hosted by Memphis and Shelby County RTA, was held at Millington Central. Guest speakers were
* Dr. Roderick Richmond, Interim Superintendent of MSCS; Mr. James “Bo” Griffin, Director of Schools, MMS;
Mr. Chris Denson, Chairman of the MM School Board; Mr. Michael Perry, Principal of MCMHS.
Millington Central Culinary Arts students prepared the delicious lunch. President of MSC RTA presided over the informative day of events, revealing innovative educational programs.
March 10, 2025--Covington Church of Christ was the site of the West Tennessee Regional Meeting and Workshop held on March 10. Updates were shared concerning: TCRS and Social Security; TEA/TRTA Merger; Electing Great Local Board Members and Commissioners; Voucher Laws/Bills; and Legislative Updates. Meals were supervised by Legislative Chairperson, Mr. Ted Williams.
March 2025--TCRTA held its March 4th Meeting at Atoka Justice Center. This enjoyable event focused on Fitness for Seniors, with Line Dancing being instructed by Craig Wright Line Dancers and Aerobics. Mr. Wright entertained the group with fun activities and the latest dance moves! Mrs. Nikki Varnadore and Patriot Bank Covington provided the delicious luncheon, as she also joined in on the fun! UNISERV Coordinator, Mrs. Terri Jones brought gifts and participated in the activities, as well!! GREAT FUN FOR ALL!
December 2024--Covington/Tipton RTA's December meeting allowed members to enjoy the Tipton County Chorus with complimentary luncheon by Cadence Bank. Members also a a fun excursion to Jackson’s Casey Jones Restaurant with shopping afterwards. C/TRTA received generous gifts by both Superintendent Mr. John Combs and Atoka Mayor, Mr. Daryl Walker. Members delighted in the holiday events!
October 2024--From the Dickson Police Department
Thank you to the Dickson County Retired Teachers Association for bringing these activities/toys to the Dickson Police Department today. These are for our officers to share/interact with kids at P.D. when needed. This was so thoughtful and kind.
