October 8, 2024--The Anderson County Clinton City Retired Teachers Association had their monthly meeting in October. New members were present, and almost half of the group signed up to attend the ETRTA Workshop at the Alex Hailey Farm in Clinton on October 22. The guest speaker was Baylor Williamson from TNAchieves, who convinced the body that becoming a mentor was a low-stress way to make a huge difference and with minimal time commitment.
The ACCCRTA asked for donations for the animal shelter and delivered them the following day.

August 2024--The Anderson County/Clinton City Retired Teachers Association, with the help of the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge, sponsored a project to get eligible high school seniors registered to vote.
On Aug. 7, 2024, seniors at Anderson County High School who would be 18 years old before Nov. 5 were registered. At Clinton High School, the registration effort took place on Aug. 8, 2024.
The volunteers from the League of Women Voters were Harriett McCurdy and Mary Uziel. From the ACCCRTA, the volunteers were Dewayne Emert, Pat Stonecipher and Marsha Livingston.
May 2024--The Anderson County-Clinton City Retired Teachers Association recently awarded $1000 scholarships to two worthy recipients. From Clinton High School, Zavie Ford, daughter of Kristen Land, plans to attend UT Chattanooga and major in early childhood education. Tagen Lowery from Anderson High School, son of Aaron Mooney, plans to attend UTK and major in music education to teach high school or college.
